Summer is the time for patios, bbq’s, and get togethers, which is super fun but makes it easy to sway off track with the healthy lifestyle.

I know I can get off track with too much food, too much bubbly and aperol spritzes. Which is fine once in a while but too much leaves me bloated and not feeling the greatest. So I will give you some of my tips for staying healthy and keeping up with healthy nutrition even during the summer months.

1.Stay hydrated. 2 liters of water daily is what you should be aiming for. That equals to about 8 glasses of water. Best part is when you are hydrated you feel better and are less likely to overeat or crave junk food.

2. Eat a nutritious breakfast. When you skip on breakfast or don’t eat you are more likely to get cravings later in the day which will usually lead to making unhealthier choices. Make some oats, an omelette or my personal favourite which is a smoothie. I love to use Usana Nutrimeal for my protein and then I add Sproos Marine Collagen which promotes healthy glowing skin. But you can also add the collagen to your matcha lattes or pancakes.

3.Always wear sunscreen. Nothing ages your skin more than sun. My favourite clean sunscreen brand is Coola.

4.When going to bbq’s, don’t go when you are starving as you are likely to reach for many unhealthy options such as chips. But if you do arrive hungry, opt for veggies and salads to curb you hunger.

5.Always keep snacks when you are on the go, especially if you have dietary restrictions. My current favourite gluten free bar is Go Macro and they have lots of flavours to choose from.

6.Don’t skip on exercise. I am the first one to tell you that I hate going to the gym in the summer time. However, there are so many other options during summer time. Go for a walk, bike ride, play tennis and go swimming. As long as you stay active that’s all that matters.

7.When drinking alcohol, make sure to drink a glass of water after every glass of alcohol to ensure you do not get too dehydrated.

Now your turn, leave me a comment with your favourite tip on how you stay healthy during summer.
