With only two weeks left before kids are off to school and back to the routines, I want to share some fun places to check out before all the back to school madness resumes.
I don’t know about you but me and my kids LOVE going to museums. There are so many things to see and it is such a magical place with all the incredible history that happens to be all under one roof. They also have fun programs for kids going on all summer as well as a kids area all year round where they can dig for dinosaur bones, try on various ancient outfits and play games. Definitely a place that will entertain everyone in the family for hours.
After spending a fun day at the ROM make sure to try a new French restaurant called Maison Selby which is about 10 mins away from the museum. Go as a family for a yummy brunch or make it a place for a special date night. This restaurant will not leave you disappointed. They have delicious food and the decor is fabulous (and very instagrammable). What they did is convert an old house into a restaurant and decorated each room with differently themed decor. And while the weather is still sunny and warm make sure to check out their quaint patio which is perfect for these final summer nights.
Besides the decor and the delicious food, they have an amazing selection of yummy drinks. The kind of place that is perfect for any occasion and will leave you wanting more.
This is a perfect place to take the kids as we bid farewell to summer. It is a dinner and a show where you get transported back to the medieval times with knights and princesses. You get to see beautiful horses as they re-enact the type of entertainment that was put together for the royals in the olden times. Plus you get to feast the same way they did back then…and the kids will love the no utensil rule and enjoy eating with their hands. Definitely a place to see and a fun way to spend the evening.
We always visit Niagara Falls a few times over the summer but next time make a small detour and visit Safari Niagara. It is a small zoo where you can see many animals up close and my absolute favourite part is feeding the giraffes. Seriously one of the most magical experiences I have had. What is also included in the price of the admission is their kid fun zone which has a petting zoo, inflatable jumping pillows, carousel and an awesome splash park. Perfect place to visit to end the summer with a bang.
Last but not least, don’t forget to visit my favourite patio on the waterfront. The Goodman Pub is located on Harbourfront right on the water which makes it an ideal view from the patio. Food is delicious, prices are very reasonable and the summer drink menu will make you thirsty. A must place to check out as we wrap up summer. If you go on the weekend there is also lots of entertainment so you can make a day of it with fun activities and then a yummy lunch or dinner at The Goodman Pub.
So these are my must places to visit to end the summer off with a bang. How about you, what places are on your summer bucket list that you haven’t checked off yet? Please let me know in the comments below.
*Experiences in this post have been provided for my review, but as always ALL opinions are my own. And as I say, if I won’t have it for myself or my family I will NEVER promote it *
Have been dying to check out the lavender farm. Hopefully will make it before summer ends.
That sounds amazing! I had no idea there was a lavender farm near Toronto. Will have to check it out
