Coming back after a relaxing 5 days at Blue Mountain Resort I wanted to share why it’s such a great and serene getaway.

If you are in Toronto, Ontario, Canada it’s a less than a 2 hour drive which makes for a great short getaway. But even if you are located outside of Toronto, it is definitely a worthwhile trip to take. Whether you go in the summer or winter there are plenty of activities to keep you entertained.

During our getaway we stayed right in the village at Seasons at Blue, which is a very nice clean hotel with a kitchen (which is awesome if you have kids who are picky eaters).  Staff is very friendly, helpful and check in was a breeze.

The first thing on the agenda was the pool. However it was a bit chilly the day we got there so a heated pool was a very welcome surprise. Plus there is a large hot tub where the parents can relax and still be able to keep an eye on the kids in the pool.

There are also a ton of activities that you can do, with kids or without. All you need to do is go to the Activity Center where friendly staff will show you all that the resort has to offer.  From relaxing at Scandinave Spa to climbing the mountain to going on adventure activities such as zipline; Blue Mountain Resort has it all. If you ever visit, make sure to go on the Ridge Runner (my fave) which is a ride that takes you up the mountain in a type of go-cart and then zips you down the mountain (you can control your speed which is good if you are not a thrill seaker).

There are also many great restaurants where you can enjoy great food and great views. Our favourites were Oliver Bonicini and Tholos.

And if you have little girls make sure to take them to Glama Gals in the village for some kid friendly pampering.

To summarize, Blue Mountain Resort is a perfect little getaway for couples and family’s. Whether you want to go overnight or for a week, you won’t get bored.

What are your favourite local getaways? Let me know in the comments.

Maria, xoxo
