I cannot believe there is only one week of summer left. Before we know it kids will go back to school and the leisurely summer days will be gone.

This summer we have been doing tons of day trips, beach days and patio nights; and there are two new restaurants that really stood out to us that I wanted to tell you about.

One of them is The Goodman Pub which is right on Harbourfront Toronto. If you are looking for a great patio with a view, this one can’t be beat. You overlook the beautiful lake Ontario while being minutes away from the heart of downtown Toronto.

The food was very delicious and tasted like home-made comfort food. Service was very pleasant and efficient.

During our dinner I decided to forgo my usual health consciousness and instead of a Superfood Salad (which I originally wanted to order) I went for Thai Green Curry.  It was super yummy and I devoured the entire dish.

My kids went for the kids menu and had fish and chips and chicken nuggets. I was pleasantly surprised that the fish was freshly breaded fish and the chicken nuggets were freshly breaded chicken.  So nice when restaurants make their food fresh rather than buy pre-made food.

Last but not least, my husband ordered a burger with lobster, which he said was scrumptious (since I do not eat red meat I will take his word for it).

So my overall impression was good food, spectacular views and friendly staff. With the fleeting summer days, take some time to enjoy the Harbourfront and visit The Goodman Pub for lunch or dinner. You won’t regret it.

Another one of our favourites was Figures Toronto. What attracted us to this place was the uniqueness of their concept.  At Figures, they are all about superheroes. Their theme and décor is all focused on  action characters.

The moment you walk into the door, you are immersed into the world of superheroes. From the wallpaper on the wall to the action figures and comic books in the front hallway, everything revolves around the awesome theme. Now that leads us to the fun part. There is a button that you have to push to open the door to the restaurant….how cool is that!! (definitely one of the kids favourite parts).

Figures has great ambience and the staff is very welcoming. Definitely recommend starting off with one of their signature drinks. I had the Zombie punch which was served in a cool tiki glass and lit on fire. It was delicious. But there are many more drinks which are sure to delight all your taste buds.

The chef creates tantalizing tapas style dishes and the menu is changed daily. The food was not only delicious but also visually appealing with each dish served in a unique way.

Come for food, come for décor and come for the uniqueness of this restaurant. Even though it is on a higher end, it is totally worth it. Whether you come for date night or bring your kids for a nice meal, you won’t regret it.

Stay Fabulous!
