Hi lovelies,

Workouts….I love them and hate them at the same time. Some days I struggle to get a workout in, but when I do I feel sooo much better.

My current workout routine is about 3-4 times per week; 2-3 of them are intensive workouts and the other one or two are usually lower pace (like yoga) that includes stretching and strengthening. I try to work out first thing in the morning, otherwise I struggle to find time getting to it.  The only time I don’t work out in the morning is when I play tennis during the day.

Now, it hasn’t always been like this. I always listen to my body to find the most optimal time to work out, and that changes all the time. In the last few years I have also worked out late evenings as well as midday and find that my optimal workout times change overtime based on my body as well as my lifestyle.

The optimal time is when you feel you have the most energy and endurance for the workout. That’s also the time you will find you are most willing to do a workout.

I know everyone always says you have to push yourself…which is partly true. But I am a HUGE believer of listening to your body. Sometimes the best thing for your body is to rest and replenish itself. So look for clues as to when you may need a break. I have definitely taken much needed weeks off, but then got right back to it.

So what’s my workout routine??? Right now I love working out at home with 30 min high intensity programs. I personally prefer Beachbody workouts which I stream on demand and can do it from anywhere on any mobile device.

My favorite ones are T25, 21 Day Fix Extreme and PiYo. They push my limits yet I can do it in the comfort of my own home. I don’t know about you but I find that when I go to the gym it takes so much longer than working out at home that by the time I’m done, I don’t feel like doing any work (self employed problems). On the other hand when I work out at home, within an hour I’m done showered and ready to start my day.

Would love to hear which workouts you enjoy as well as do you prefer going to the gym or working out at home? Let me know in the comments.

Stay Fabulous!

Maria, xoxo
