My Secret to Preserving the Red Louboutin Sole

I am a huge Louboutin fan. The exquisite shoes and the red bottoms make my heart skip a beat. 😍

However the red sole wears very quickly and the bottoms don’t look so good afterwards. So I usually resort to going to my shoemaker to put a red rubber sole on the shoe. It is a great solution as the sole is no longer slippery and it still looks red from afar. But even though it is good, it is never the same as the original.

So I was doing my research to find out alternatives that would work to keep the sole red with minimal damage. And boy there are a lot of alternatives. There is red paint…which I would be hesitant about. Can you imagine walking and leaving red prints everywhere you go?? lol

 

Then there are various blogs that recommend to buy a 3m Ipad screen cover and put it on the sole. So I did. However, my experience was anything but good. First of all you need more than one person to put it on and then it was sooo difficult to get the bubbles out. Now it would have been all worth it have they actually stuck on and stayed on the sole. But no, as soon as I started walking it started peeling off. So I ripped them off and scrapped that idea.

I decided to wear them out a bit and then take them to my shoe maker for the rubber sole. However I ran across an Instagram page of a company, Covered Sole who promise that their 3M Sole Stickers will actually stay on the shoe. So I decided to give them a try and let me tell you, after 3 wears the sticker is still staying on and protecting the red paint on the sole. I don’t know yet how often I will need to change it but so far so good.

 

And for only $10 per pair it is a steal and a very affordable option even if you do have to change them more often.

 

I also loved how easy it was to put it on. You only need one person and about 5 mins to get it done.

All you do is clean the bottom of you shoe, trace your shoe, cut out the sticker and then place it on your sole. And that is all! You are ready to wear it. It works best when placed on brand new soles, however I have worn mine once so it had very minor damage and it still worked perfectly.
