I am very vigilant about the health of my skin which I obviously start with my nutrition. However that alone is not enough and a good skin care routine is a must.
At every season change (at the very least) I get a facial, peel or microdermabrasion. I find it to be the best way to get rid of dead skin and extract any unwanted pimples or other dirt trapped inside the pores. Doing so provides a great base for all the at home exfoliation, masks and other treatments.
Did you know that doing a regular facial can greatly improve the absorption and improve efficacy of all your products?
So with that said my skin specialist Klara from Skincare with Klara suggested I start using a Dermaroller. It is a skin care tool that has lots of little needles that make tiny punctures in the skin that greatly help with exfoliation and really help the product penetrate and do its work.
I have been using the Dermaroller for a little over a month and these are the differences I noticed in my skin:
1. This time of year I ALWAYS get dehydrated flaky patches on my forehead and nose no matter what I do, but this year I still didn’t experience any dehydration which I definitely attribute to this little device.
2. My skin always has a nice glow.
3. Skin is also feeling extra soft which I believe is due to the better absorption of the products.
I use my Dermaroller 1-2 times a week. I do it at night because it does sting a little and I do get slightly irritated so best to use it in the evening after you cleanse and tone the skin. Now since it is a tool with small needles it is slightly uncomfortable to use but not painful. Before you use you have to put a good serum or peptides and then follow-up with a same serum/peptides. I also add a good skin oil at the end to leave my skin feeling super hydrated.
So this is my experience with Dermarolling. I personally love it and have seen benefits with it. Now I have pretty good skin so my results may not be as drastic as someone with skin issues but based on my results I highly recommend having one at home.
However I do have to warn you about where you buy your dermarolling tool. There are many out there and I have seen them as little as $15 online. Please don’t fall for cheap prices as this device goes on your face and bad quality tool can do way more harm than good. It can scratch your skin or even worse there are cases of those needles coming off and getting stuck inside your skin….ouch! This is one time when cheap is NOT best. You can get the Dermaroller from Skin Care with Klara (plus you get a free consult of your skin) or any other spa that specializes with these type of skin treatments.
