Hi Lovelies,
I am often asked about my glowing skin and hair care routine, so today I am sharing it with you.
For my skin:
First of all healthy radiant skin (and hair) starts from within so first and foremost I focus on my nutrition, sleep (doesn’t always happen) and water intake. If my nutrition is off or I don’t sleep or drink enough my skin will tell. What I end up getting is tiny dry patches on my forehead and on my nose. So start good skin from within.
Besides the above, I wash my face every morning with a gentle face wash (still trying to find the perfect one for me). Then I add jojoba oil to my skin followed by moisturizing cream and eye cream (check out this post to find out my favorite products).
I don’t always wear a lot of makeup but when I do I ensure that EVERYTHING is taken off at the end of the day. The biggest mistake you can make is sleep with makeup on your face. It clogs your pores; which in turn gives you blemishes as well as dull appearance on your skin. However, when I do get blemishes I use witch hazel and it dries them right up.
What I use for makeup is powdered foundation as well as highlighting palette. Since I have eyelash extensions I don’t need to use anything on my eyes (unless I’m going out) so that saves a ton of time in the morning. I also ensure that my lips are exfoliated and moisturized every morning.
And a big one for the skin; ensure you don’t skip sunscreen since nothing ages your skin like the sun.
For my hair:
I love to style my hair all the time and I use my curling iron very frequently so damage is inevitable. The way I minimize it is by washing my hair every 5-6 days so the natural oils that build up protect it from the heat of the styling. Also, once I curl my hair the curls stay for a few days so all they need are little touch ups. In between I like to use natural oils (jojoba, rose oil, etc) to put on my ends, especially before the curling iron.
I also love coconut oil masks.
Every few weeks the night before I wash my hair I slather it (half way down all through to the ends) in coconut oil. Then I put it in a bun and cover it with a shower cap…not pretty I know but it’s so worth it.
In the morning I wash, condition and style as usual. My hair comes out shiny and silky smooth. Use it often and over time the condition of your hair will improve.
This is what I do to get my skin glowing and hair shiny and healthy.
Share in the comments your favorite beauty tips, I would love to hear from you.
Maria xoxo
