I am a very health oriented individual and have been for many years. I am a big believer in supplements since it is impossible these days to get all the necessary nutrition from food. Not only because the food is not as nutritious but because most of us don’t even eat as many fruits and veggies as we need to for optimal nutrition. And let’s face it, optimal nutrition is key to optimal health.
I have recently been introduced to Natures’ Sunshine and have been trying a few of their products. Today I want to share with you some of my favorites.
Collagen:
First one is the Collagen and let me tell you, if you are not using it, you are missing out. It is a very important substance in our body since it is kind of like glue that helps the body maintaining the structure. Our collagen starts depleting in the 30’s and as we age skin becomes thinner, and ligaments lose the elasticity. In order to maintain that we need collagen and the only way to get it is through supplements.
However, don’t forget that not all supplements are created equal and quality is extremely important; this is why I only use trusted companies. Collagen powder is also very easy to use, I just put it in my smoothie or a coffee and I am set for the day.
Personally I have found a big improvement with the use of collagen in the strength of my nails as well as my joints.
Chlorophyll:
Next up is liquid chlorophyll. This supplement is something new that I incorporated into my regime and the reason I started adding it is due to all the health benefits that it possesses. Chlorophyll is a substance that gives plants their green colour; but in humans it helps stimulate the immune system, detoxify the blood, absorb toxins, help with glowing skin, get rid of bad odors as well as help energize you….and who wouldn’t want that.
It is also very easy to take. I add it to my water in the morning to get all the health benefits.
Omega 3:
Now last but not least and the supplement that I have taken for over a decade is Omega 3. This is also one of the few supplements that you hear about it’s importance all the time. Naturally it is found in fatty foods such as salmon and anchovies which are high in DHA and EPA. However, the problem with eating too much fish is that fish can have high levels of mercury and other metals which can be an issue if consumed in large quantities. Therefore adding supplements is key to keep your hair shiny, your brain functioning well and have that nice skin glow.
As much as we should be getting everything from what we eat, with the current quality of food we would have to eat copious amounts of it to get the proper amount of nutrition, which let’s face it is not going to happen.
So next time you are looking for a supplement, take a look at Nature’s Sunshine. You can also use code HEALTH to get 25% off your first order. But don’t forget to consult your doctor before starting anything new.
