Eyelash extensions, to do or not to do:
I was toying with the idea of getting eye lash extensions for quite some time but have heard so many horror stories that I was very hesitant to do so. When I was checking reviews, I was reading about women losing lots of eyelashes, having their eyelashes broken off and getting terrible allergies from the glue. Those reviews made me very apprehensive, but still very interested in trying them. So I started asking around and checking Instagram for pictures of eye lash extension places and I was surprised how many used generic images instead of their own work (stay away from those).
So when I saw a friend of mine with gorgeous eyelashes I asked for her eye lash contact and the rest is history.
When I first had them done, I fell in love with them. But I was scared as to how my lashes would look afterwards, so I kept them on for about two months and then removed them. I was very happy to see that my eyelashes had no damage. But I was definitely missing them, so I ended up going back after a month and getting new ones put on again.
What I absolutely love about eyelash extensions is the ease of getting ready every morning.
I do not wear a lot of makeup but since my eyelashes are blonde I ALWAYS had to wear eye makeup and tons of mascara or I felt like my eyes were invisible (hehe).
Now it takes me less than 5 minutes to do my makeup. All I need is sunscreen, a bit of powder and blush and I’m good to go. Most importantly I still feel amazing. And my eyes still stand out ( just as they do in this blog post pic). Best of all the eye lash care is minimal. Brush them out in the morning and night, don’t use any oil on them and fill them every 2-3 weeks ( I get mine done every 3).
So if you are thinking about getting them done; I say go for it you will love it. Make sure though you do your research and find a qualified technician who uses good quality eyelashes and good glue. Ask around and get recommendations; or at least look at reviews before finding a lash technician.
Let me know in the comments if you ever had them done or are thinking of doing them. And feel free to ask questions, I would be happy to share my experience.
Stay fabulous!
Maria, xoxo
